The Fires of 2003

The Cedar Fire was the largest fire in recorded California history

The Cedar fire came about 4 miles from us. Seems kind of far when you think of it now, but we were in Sedona, having a pleasant day at the vortexes (vortices?) when we heard about the fires. Once back in Phoenix, we saw the news, which basically depicted all of Southern California ablaze. We rushed home, arriving at 3 AM in the morning in Orange County and had Veronica evacuate our house. When we got back, everything was safe and we are glad to be alive, but people living very close to us were not so lucky. Our world was orange and ashy for several days. (The pictures above are not mine.)

Can you feel the vortex?
